MINISTRIES

Kid's Ministry

Our children’s ministry was started by Joel and Julianne Parkin. They have a heart for children and desire to see them grow into a greater understanding of God’s love for them. They provide this by offering weekly Sunday School gatherings centered around His word. Lessons are derived from biblical principles taught through creative art projects, fun stories, word pictures and parables. We are currently serving ages 5-10 with a desire to expand in offering care for Nursery ages and children 5 and under. Our desire is to train up our children in the way the Bible directs so that when they are older they will not lose sight of Jesus.

Women's Ministry

Our women’s ministry was started by Anna Ruth Parkin and meets once a month at the Parkin home. Women from all walks of life and various church bodies are invited for an evening of laughter, pouring over scripture and worship through song. Women are encouraged to share openly about where God is growing, developing or pruning areas in their life. This ministry has become a lighthouse of hope and is already providing an orchard of fruit. Our women come away refreshed and rejuvenated by the gathering of friends and family. This small group meets every fourth Friday of the month and is open to meeting more frequently as it develops further.

Worship Ministry

Our desire is to raise up others that have a musical gift or desire to glorify God through serving. Opportunities are weekly and range from instrumentalists, sound technician, vocalist, worship leader and prayer. Our gatherings include prayers, songs and scripture readings which allow for a wide opportunity for outward expressions of the inward change. Our corporate gathering time is Sunday 3:00-4:30. Practices on Thursday evenings. Quarterly Nights of Worship are held for the community and hosted by us. In these we seek out other local worship leaders and gather for times of songs and testimonies.

Family/Hospitality Ministry

Lakshmi Parker is our director of family and hospitality ministry. She serves our community through greeting those at our Sunday gathering, planning outreach events, decorating and collaborating with the rest of our team to establish a deeply rooted family of faith. Lakshmi has been impacted by the love of God and has an insatiable desire to see others walk in the same freedom and love. Our team has recognized a local need among the elderly neighbors for help caring for their lawns, and able bodied, handy-man type projects. This is our starting point in reaching the community, because Justin (our Men's Ministry leader and husband of Lakshmi) is well versed in lawn and garden. Our church-campus work days have included helping the neighbors we have met so far. We would love to see this expand as we get to know more neighbors. Our goal is to establish a family room feel where all feel welcomed into the love of God and the good news of the gospel.

Men's Ministry

Our men's ministry was started by Justin and meets weekly for Men's Bible study at New Harmony Church. We desire to build community, develop freindships and bring truth and transparency to the world through the good news of Jesus Christ. We desire to share our testimonies and reflect and learn through reading and listening to the Word of God. We teach one another and strengthen, equip and encourage men to build their lives on Jesus and every word He gives us. We are grateful for the example we have in Jesus and aim to represent Him accurately in everything we pursue inwardly and outwardly to glorify God.

Thrive

Our youth ministry was started by Joshua and meets weekly. Initially started in 2017 the group has grown and was largely responsible for the planting on New Harmony Church. Each week we strive to learn through socializing, worshipping and diving into the word of God. We serve students 11 to 18 and have a living room feel. Our leadership team has many former students pouring back into the youth group. Our desire is to see students rooted in their faith, built up in their maturity and gratefully living the testimonies that develop in the grace and mercy of God.
